Participation of CLIC project in the XXI SIU Conference CONFINI, MOVIMENTI, LUOGHI, POLITICHE E PROGETTI PER CITTA’ E TERRITORI IN TRANSIZIONE

The Conference focused on the main challenges of the contemporary cities in terms of policies, projects and tools in a transitional phase of urban and territorial contexts related to morphological and social changes.

In this framework, the XXI National Conference of the Italian Association of Urban Planners addressed topics related to the spatial, urban planning and social results of the transition that is underway, the adequacy of the cognitive systems, design and planning tools and horizons of meaning regarding urban planning and design, focusing the discussion on three key words: boundaries, movements, places.

In particular, the themes of circular cities, cultural heritage and adaptive reuse, developed in the activities of CLIC project, were proposed by the IRISS researchers at the Workshop 3.2 – New urban metabolisms and spatial relationships regarding services, welfare and relational, circular and reciprocal economies. The transition of settlements constitutes an opportunity for a radical rethinking of the issue and for the regeneration of territories and of service activities, as well as of economic and social exchange activities which today are in crisis due to the various, and not always linear, phases of “growth”. The Session focused on the territorial development and regeneration processes with respect to circular economies, social capital, and economic equity.
