Participation of CLIC project to the workshop “Smart Specialisation and the Heritage City” within the European Week of Regions and Cities”

Prof. Christer Gustafsson, from Uppsala University CLIC Partner, was invited to moderate the workshop “Smart Specialisation and the Heritage City”, taking place on 9th October 2019 during the European Week of Regions and Cities. This session, organised as part of the EU funded “ROCK” project, investigated the role of cultural heritage in smart specialization strategies at the city level.

He wrapped up the session concluding that heritage can offer a variety of innovation pathways both in terms of restoration and promotion, emphasizing the key role that smart specialization strategies are able to play in linking cultural heritage to innovation policy.
